Cady Burns

Cady is an Environmental Scientist - Wastewater and Industry Engagement at The Wastewater Specialists. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waikato and is currently completing her Master’s research in environmental science, focusing on water systems and environmental processes.

Cady combines a strong scientific foundation with practical laboratory experience to support wastewater treatment optimisation and environmental protection. Her work includes biological process monitoring, respiration-based toxicity testing, and collaboration with councils and industry to identify and manage risks associated with industrial discharges.

With a background in outdoor education and a long-standing connection to the natural environment, Cady brings both technical knowledge and environmental stewardship to her work. She is passionate about applying science to improve wastewater treatment performance and protect New Zealand’s waterways.
